The UPS Foundation has presented the Long Beach Police Foundation (LBPF) with a $10,000 donation to assist with the LBPF’s ongoing fundraising efforts, according to a statement from the LBPF.

The organization said it will use the money to assist with puchasing equipment, training and technology.

“The City of Long Beach is home to one of the finest law enforcement organizations in the nation, the Long Beach Police Department,” said Bruce Mac Rae, Chairman of the Board for the LBPF, in a statement. “And the foundation is committed to building a safer community through donations that enhance the Long Beach Police Department’s ability to perform at the highest level. The foundation is an extra arm to support our men and women at the Long Beach Police Department. Donations and funding also contribute to efforts that sustain community outreach programs supported by the Long Beach Police Department.”

Eduardo Martinez, president of the UPS Foundation, said the organization is “honored” to support the Long Beach Police Foundation.

“Our goal is to fund powerful programs that make a lasting difference in the community,” Martinez said in a statement.
