Man who’d been stabbing himself dies in custody after officers Tase, handcuff him, LBPD says

Police said they Tasered a man to try to get him to stop stabbing himself. He later died at the hospital, according to the LBPD.

Long Beach to open 50 overnight parking spaces to unhoused people near the Queen Mary

Beginning March 20, the city is expanding its Safe Parking Program to offer 50 overnight parking spaces in a parking lot near the Queen Mary. The site will have security officers, a pet relief area, hand-washing facilities and restrooms.
