Scott Butler (men’s water polo/swimming) and Sarah Agopian (women’s water polo) have been named the Long Beach City College male and female athletes of the year for the 2010-11 sports season.
2011 Naples Island Swim Event September 17
The 2011 Naples Island Swims event will be held Saturday, September 17th in the Los Alamitos Bay. The event has been held annually for many years, but this will be the second year with the Long Beach Shore Aquatics as hosts.

It was a beautiful evening for being outside in Milwaukee and both teams seemed well prepared and ready for action. Milwaukee was clad in gold jerseys and black shorts and was facing off against CSULB in all white. Someone asked one of the Milwaukee staff members who these opponents were and where they were from. “They are from California. They are ranked something like 23rd,” he replied in a manner that led me to believe he considered The Beach a formidable opponent.

Long Beach State Athletics Program Earns 3rd Consecutive Full NCAA Certification
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 Committee on Athletics Certification announced on August 18, 2011 that the athletics program at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) has received its third consecutive full certification. The designation of certified means that an institution has shown that it operates its athletic program in substantial conformity with operating principles adopted by the NCAA Division membership.
