Southern California and hockey are about as synonymous as sun bathing and Siberia. But thanks to some dedicated parents, Long Beach high school students who want to hit the ice now have a team comprised of players from across the city.

As you know, there was no rainbow over either of the Hawaii contests, the men got stuffed like a BBQ-suckling pig and the women snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Saturday was better.

Let’s go, Boy.” That was one of my favorite 50s sitcom lines and it sort of fits the life and times in 49er town these days. Your LBSU athletic teams got some unexpected heroes these days to keep their post season hopes, well, out of the well!
