A 35-foot power vessel caught fire Thursday morning shortly after 10 a.m. Rescue boats responded and extinguished the fire, according to Marine Safety Chief Gonzalo Medina.

The boat was moored to Island White, just offshore near Junipero Beach. Rescue boats towed the boat away from the island and other craft, said Medina. No injuries were reported and passengers were transferred safely to another boat, he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
