Jazz, Ballet Folklorico, drumming, theatre and clowning are just a few of the types of performances you will see at this year’s A LOT Initiative, sponsored by the Arts Council for Long Beach. The organization has announced its complete list of the artists and arts organizations that will partake in the second annual event.
A LOT is a simple but grand concept, providing an opportunity using empty parking lots to help engage Long Beach citizens with the local art scene. The lots are specifically located in underserved areas—in this year’s case, at 3rd and Long Beach Blvd. downtown and at Artesia and Atlantic Ave. in North Long Beach.
New to this year’s program is the Curatorial Partner, which brings on organizational groups which that will help select and curate events which will activate the spots for 2 to five hours of art experience.
This year’s four curatorial partners are:
- Long Beach Playhouse
