Two Los Angeles-based Artists Confront Family and Femininity in DREAMS OF ANOTHER TIME

Curator of the University Art Museum’s latest exhibition, Dreams of Another Time, Kristina Newhouse, had a vision from an educational perspective, a plan where two important Los Angeles-based artists, both known for their highly refined skills and techniques in painting, would collaborate in a way that would make them both susceptible to new ideas and discoveries.

UAM’s Three Newest Exhibitions Raise the Bar for the University as a Whole

The University Art Museum at California State University, Long Beach opened three exhibitions in late January that highlight the re-designed front plaza and new Permanent Collection Gallery. On view until April 12, the three exhibitions, Jessica Rath: A Better Nectar, Consumed and MOCA 8 are as intellectually stimulating as they are beautiful to see. 

University Art Museum Presents Family Day in Conjunction with Newest Exhibition, ”A Better Nectar”

This Sunday, March 1, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM, the University Art Museum at Cal State Long Beach will be hosting a Family Day not to be missed, where children can learn about the profound and moving biology behind native California plants and their pollinating partners, bumblebees, by walking through the immersive underground nest installation in Jessica Rath’s A Better Nectar and participating in plant-based art projects.
