Seven people were hospitalized Sunday morning after an SUV ran a red light and caused a three-vehicle collision in the Retro Row neighborhood of Long Beach, authorities said.
Long Beach officers and fire units responded to the site of the incident—on Fourth Street and Junipero Avenue—at 8:51AM on Sunday, August 16, Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Jake Heflin said.
According to officials, A Chevy Trailblazer traveling southbound on Junipero Avenue went through an intersection and hit a Long Beach Transit bus traveling eastbound on Fourth Street.
A white sedan making a turn to go east on Fourth Street was also hit, Heflin said.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the motorist of the SUV had run a red light.
Seven people were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, including four individuals riding in the white sedan and three persons riding in the SUV, according to Heflin.
