County authorities today identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash on a freeway connector road Monday, Jan. 3.

Ray Hernandez Cabezas, 30, is the man who died in the collision, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.

The crash occurred around 9:20 a.m. Monday on the connector road from the northbound 710 Freeway to the westbound 91 Freeway in the Long Beach area, according to Caltrans and the California Highway Patrol.

Cabezas was pronounced dead at the scene.

The transition road was closed while an investigation was conducted.

This incident comes just a few days after a separate motorcyclist was killed in Downtown Long Beach after crashing into a car.
