A big rig rolled over this afternoon on the northbound Anaheim on-ramp to the 710 freeway in Long Beach, sending the occupant to the hospital and resulting in the closure of lanes on eastbound Anaheim leading to the northbound 710, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) spokesman Jake Heflin said the crash occurred at 12:02PM. Crews removed the front windshield from the big rig to extricate the patient, and he was transported to a local hospital at 12:28PM based on the force of the crash.

According to a witness with knowledge of the incident, the patient was male and suffered a broken collarbone and ribs, but is otherwise unharmed. No further details regarding the driver were available from authorities at the time of publication.

Lanes closed down at 12:17PM, according to the CHP, and reopened at 2:45PM after workers cleaned up oil that came from the crash.
