A man was arrested early Wednesday morning after he led officers on a 50-minute pursuit on multiple freeways and surface streets, ending in Long Beach, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The pursuit was originally reported by Gardena Police Department officers when it began on the eastbound Gardena (91) Freeway around 1:15AM, said CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos.
The pursuit then headed north and south, at various points, on the Long Beach (710) Freeway, and east and west on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway. It also went over the Santa Ana (5) and San Gabriel Valley (605) Freeways, as well as El Monte surface streets, Villalobos said.
The pursued vehicle, described as an early model Honda Accord, traveled at speeds of 75-85 miles per hour throughout the pursuit before being apprehended around 2:05AM in Long Beach on Dovey Drive, between the Long Beach Towne Center and El Dorado Park.
