A 44-year-old Compton man who previously worked at Cal State Long Beach pleaded guilty Monday to killing his 65-year-old stepfather and his 13-year-old stepsister, prosecutors announced. He also admitted to wounding the stepsister’s mother, according to authorities.

Jamie Williams was arrested Sept. 28, 2018 after he shot the three family members and ran naked from a Compton home, according to authorities. Hours earlier, he had caused concern and sparked a search by CSULB police when he was on campus voicing frustrations with the school, police said at the time.

Williams is a former maintenance worker for CSULB’s Associated Students, Inc. Campus officials suspected Williams was romantically involved with high-ranking CSULB administrator, Carmen Taylor, who was fired shortly after Williams’ arrest, according to court documents.

Taylor alleged in a lawsuit that campus officials linked her to Williams partially because he stalked and threatened her shortly before the deadly shooting. The lawsuit accused the university of discriminating against her because she’s black and a woman—something campus officials have denied.

This week, Williams pleaded guilty to two counts of murder with a special circumstance allegation of multiple murders and one count of attempted murder, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. He also admitted to using a handgun and causing great bodily injury to the victim of the attempted murder, Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Wallace said.

Williams shot his stepfather, Eddie Charles Talley Jr., his stepsister, Brittany M., and her mother on Sept. 28, 2018, Wallace said. Her mother was the only survivor of the shooting.
