The Belmont Aquatics Center, which will replace the old Belmont Plaza Pool in Belmont Shore that was permanently closed in 2013, won’t be completed for at least a few more years but that doesn’t mean there aren’t opportunities to swim in Long Beach.

Here’s a list of community pools in Long Beach:

Belmont Plaza Pool

The temporary pool is still open to the public and offers opportunities for lap swimming, water exercise and swim lessons in addition to recreational swimming. Recreational swimming hours are from 1 to 3 p.m. daily and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Fees for adults ($4) and seniors ($3) are non-refundable. Admission for youths is free throughout the summer.

Belmont Pool is located at 4320 East Olympic Plaza.

Martin Luther King Jr. Park Pool

This year-round, indoor pool offers swim lessons in a temperature-controlled pool. All ages recreational swimming is available daily with varying hours. Children 17 and younger are free while adults ($3) and seniors ($2) are required to pay to access King pool.

King pool is located at 1910 Lemon Ave.

Silverado Park Pool

Silverado is also a year-round pool located at Silverado Park on the city’s westside. The pool offers swim classes, lap swimming and free recreational swimming for children 17 and younger.

Recreational swim hours are 1 to 3 p.m. all week with nighttime hours from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. The fee for entry is $3 for adults and $2 for seniors.

Silverado Park Pool is located at 1540 W. 32nd St.

Cabrillo High School

Cabrillo High School is one of two LBUSD campuses that have opened up their pools to the public for summer swimming. The pool offers open swim and swimming lessons and is open through August 27.

Recreational swimming is available in this outdoor pool Monday through Friday from noon to 2 p.m. and admission is free for all ages.

Cabrillo High School is located at 2001 Santa Fe Ave.

Jordan High School

Jordan’s pool is an indoor facility that offers swim lessons, water exercise classes and lap swimming in addition to recreational swim times for all ages. Like Cabrillo’s pool, Jordan is open through August 27.

Recreational swim hours are from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Youths can swim for free at Jordan but adults ($3) and seniors ($2) must pay to use the facility.

Jordan High School is located at 6500 Atlantic Ave.
