Celebrating its 20th anniversary, The Center’s popular and ever-growing LGBTQ film festival, QFilms, has announced it will take place later this autumn, September 6 through 8.

As submissions continued to be accepted until June 8, the viewing committee will whittle down hundreds of films into the festival’s selection of features, shorts, and documentaries that exemplifies and highlights the LGBTQ community.

Last year marked the most successful QFilms yet, with over 1,300 visitors viewing films from both professionals and student filmmakers. Long Beach Post favorite I Do won Best Feature and has since gone on to appear in multiple film festivals from Melbourne to Miami, Palm Springs to Pittsburgh.

This year’s festival will continue the tradition of using the Art Theatre and The Center as screening spaces. The line-up is expected to be announced later this summer.

Festival sponsors and underwriters are critical to the festival’s success and are currently being sought. Please contact Christina D. Rios Bennett at (562) 889-2826 or [email protected] for information about sponsorship opportunities. For more information on the Art Theatre, please visit www.arttheatrelongbeach.com.
