Police are investigating a shooting near Veterans Park in Long Beach on Saturday night, which left a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower body, police said.

At approximately 9 p.m., police said officers were dispatched to the area of Pacific Avenue and Spring Street regarding shots being fired, but they later found a crime scene at 28th Street near Pine Avenue after speaking with the victim, who was at a local hospital.

No suspect information was available, police said. The reason for the shooting is currently unknown.
