UPDATE | Authorities said a 70-year-old San Diego resident died Wednesday morning when the vehicle he was driving overturned on the Studebaker Road offramp from the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway.

The driver was identified as Cristano Benito Mangaliag by assistant Coroner Chief Ed Winter. 

The collision was reported at about 10:15AM and shut down the offramp for hours while the California Highway Patrol (CHP) investigated the incident.

1/20/16 at 11:15AM | A man died after his vehicle overturned and landed on its side on the Studebaker offramp of the southbound 405 Freeway Wednesday morning, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials.

The CHP has issued a SigAlert shutting down the offramp for an indefinite amount of time. 

The victim, described only as a male motorist, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page. The collision was reported at about 10:15AM.

It was not immediately clear if another vehicle was involved or if there were other victims.

No additional information was available at this time. The Post will update this story as we learn more.
