An aircraft emergency alert was sent out Friday afternoon after a small plane experiencing engine failure landed safely on the runway.

Airport spokeswoman Kate Kuykendall said the plane, possibly a Cessna model, with engine failure landed safely without incident.

It was not clear what caused the engine trouble.
