Man pleads not guilty to Long Beach killing

Stanley Shaw, 42, from the Central Valley city of Turlock, was charged March 14 with one felony count each of murder for the Jan. 30 killing of Charles Ogletree, dissuading a witness by force or threat involving another person and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Verdict upheld in murder of mother, 4-year-old in Downtown Long Beach

The three-justice panel from California’s 2nd District Court of Appeal cited “compelling evidence of guilt” by Brandon Ivan Colbert Jr., who was convicted of first-degree murder for the Aug. 6, 2016, murders of Carina Mancera, 26, and her daughter, Jennabel Anaya.
