Police said they were called to the scene of the shooting around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived, they found a man who’d been shot in the upper body, LBPD spokeswoman Jennifer Arzola said.
“The exact motive for the shooting is currently unknown,” police said in a statement. “However, the incident is being investigated as gang-related.”
In the past week, 12 people were wounded and four others killed during nearly a dozen different shootings across Long Beach.
Bystanders attempted performing “life-saving measures” on the victim until officers and paramedics arrived.
