Long Beach will file new charges accusing Restauration’s owner of operating without a health permit and running an illegal gas line to her restaurant after her service was shut off, City Prosecutor Doug Haubert confirmed Wednesday.
Restauration, the Fourth Street restaurant that has openly defied Long Beach’s health orders by reopening its patio, could now be facing eviction after an escalating series of crackdowns by the city failed to shut them down.
City crews found the unauthorized line after someone reported a gas leak at Restauration, the Fourth Street restaurant that has flouted COVID-19 rules.
Dana Tanner, the owner of Restauration, has openly defied the health orders, saying she was staying open to keep her business afloat and to help employees make ends meet.
The owner disputes whether the New Year’s Eve event is a party but says it will go on as planned.
Restauration, the much lauded Bluff Heights restaurant on the east end of 4th Street’s “Retro Row” has formed a new partnership with Chef Philip Pretty, owner Dana Tanner announced Saturday.
