The man was found fatally stabbed in his Alamitos Beach home on the evening of April 6 after a verbal dispute, officials said at the time.
A preliminary investigation found the stabbing happened in an apartment complex located in the 300 block of East Esther Street.
One incident took place late Saturday night while the other was reported early Sunday morning.
The victim, a man, was in stable condition when he told officers he was stabbed near Chestnut Avenue and 5th Street.
The victim, 31-year-old Leandro Maza, was visiting Long Beach with his father and fiance from Mar del Plata, Argentina.
Police were originally called to the home in the 400 block of E 21st Street at about 8:45 p.m. about a possible restraining order violation that resulted in the stabbing, police said.
The attack happened at 1059 Pacific Avenue, which is the location of the Palms Motel, according to police records.
