A woman was found dead Monday morning outside of L’Opera on Pine Avenue in Downtown Long Beach.
At around 9:15 a.m., authorities said that the woman died from a potential overdose on the sidewalk at 101 Pine Ave.
Fire personnel determined that the woman, who was experiencing homelessness, died at the scene, Long Beach Police Department spokesman Richard Mejia said in an email. Responders also transported a man, who was also experiencing homelessness, to a local hospital where he is in stable condition, police said.
Shortly after the initial incident, police said a third man experiencing homelessness was found near the scene suffering effects of a possible overdose and was also transported to a local hospital.
The identity of the woman has not yet been released by the county coroner’s office pending notification of next of kin.
