One person was injured following a two-vehicle traffic collision on the northbound 710 Freeway that ended with an SUV on its side, authorities said.
The crash occurred sometime around 10:46 a.m., just before the Willow Street exit. When Long Beach Fire personnel arrived at the scene, they witnessed two cars that had crashed, including one that overturned on its side. The collision resulted in a stand-still traffic jam on the northbound 710 Freeway from the Shoreline Drive Freeway entrance through Willow Street, according to Caltrans. CHP assisted with traffic control and closed two lanes as Long Beach fire personnel tended to the people involved.
One person was transported by LBFD personnel to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries. No further details were provided. As of 11:30 a.m., traffic near the exit onto West Willow Street was clearing up, according to Caltrans.
