The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has renewed a $10,000 reward for information for the third time leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot 26-year-old Lashown Fils and left him lying in the street.
The reward was set to expire Friday, after being first issued in May 2012 and renewed in October 2012 and January 2015.
“Detectives have canvassed the area in an attempt to find additional witnesses to the incident…no additional witnesses have come forward,” said Supervisor Don Knabe, stating he hoped the reward would prompt a call.
Fils, 26, was found shot in the chest and left lying in the street near 14th Street and Cedar Avenue at about 4:00AM on January 11, 2012. He was pronounced dead at a hospital a few hours later, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
Detectives do not believe the victim was a gang member. A motive for the shooting was unknown.
