A 15- and 16-year-old were wounded in a drive-by shooting in Central Long Beach Sunday morning, according to Long Beach police.
At around 6:35 a.m., officers found the two teenagers suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body at the 1600 block of East 14th Street. They were then transported by the Long Beach Fire Department to local hospitals, police said.
The victims told police that they were “standing in the area when a vehicle pulled up nearby, and an unknown number of suspects from inside the vehicle shot them.” The suspects fled in the vehicle before police arrived.
No other injuries were reported, however, a multi-unit residence was struck by gunfire, police said.
Gang detectives are conducting their investigation, and at this time, no suspect information is available, and the motive for the shooting is unknown, police said.
