Crash involving a police vehicle sends two to the hospital as a precaution, LBPD says

Nobody was seriously hurt, but two people were taken to the hospital to be evaluated after a driver crashed into a police vehicle in North Long Beach Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Police said an officer was driving westbound on Market Street toward Atlantic Avenue while responding to a battery report when the driver of a vehicle traveling northbound on Atlantic Avenue failed to stop for the police lights and siren.

The driver’s car collided with the police vehicle in the intersection at about 2:30 p.m., according to the LBPD.
