Man wounded in West Long Beach shooting, police say

The shootings happened about half a mile apart in the span of two hours. Both men are expected to survive, police said.
The victim was shot in the lower body around 2:45 a.m., but his injury was considered not to be life-threatening, police said.
Police say the victims were at the basketball courts on the south side of Silverado Park sometime around 1:51 p.m. when they were shot during a gunfight between someone driving by and an unidentified person who was also at the courts.
Erick Bryant Jr., 35, was taken into custody and booked for one count each of attempted murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and being a felon in possession of ammunition, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Officers responded at around 5:53 a.m. to a local hospital after the man arrived with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body, police said.
A man allegedly armed with a gun was fatally shot by Seal Beach police, authorities said today.
Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Queensway Drive regarding a shots call at approximately 3:57 a.m. Sunday, according to police.
Police say the man’s injuries were not life-threatening.
Upon arrival, police found strike marks and a blood trail but no victim. He later took himself to a hospital, according to the LBPD.
