Long Beach police were investigating a suspected armed carjacking that took place in West Long Beach early Saturday morning.
A man was shot and wounded today in a carjacking in the Wrigley area of Long Beach, and a female juvenile was taken into custody following a short pursuit, authorities said.
The woman told officers that shortly before 7:40 p.m. Monday, a man made motions as if he had a gun and stole her car near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Burnett Street.
The victim told police he was walking in a parking lot when a man approached him, pointed a black, metal object at him and demanded his money, police said.
The victim told police that the carjackers, who appeared to be under 18, took the car from her and drove off around 2:40 p.m.
